SEARCHING FOR CAPTAIN WENTWORTH
Jane Odiwe
Sophie Elliot gets the key to a townhouse in Bath, which has been in her family for years and is next to Jane Austen's house, in hopes of working on her writing. Once there, Sophie is transported back in time and sees through the eyes of her ancestor, Sophia Elliot. Sophie travels back and forth in time with the aid of an old glove and meets Jane Austen, Jane's sister, and Jane's brother, Charles, who is in the Navy. Meanwhile, in the present, Sophie meets her attractive neighbor, Josh Strafford.
Ms. Odiwe pays homage to Austen's PERSUASION in this unique novel, which transports the reader back to the Regency period. Since PERSUASION is my second favorite Austen novel and I enjoy a good time travel read, I quite enjoyed this book. Although I would have liked more of an explanation about the time travel aspect of the novel, this book is historically accurate and the romance is delightful.
All in all, SEARCHING FOR CAPTAIN WENTWORTH is a lovely romance, that most Austen fans will enjoy.
NOTE: I was given this book, in return for an unbiased review.
