Review of It Takes Two to Tangle
IT TAKES TWO TO TANGLE may be purchased here.
IT TAKES TWO TO TANGLE
Theresa Romain
Henry Middlebrook has returned to London after fighting Napoleon and losing the use of his right arm. Henry's brother and sister-in-law are worried about him and decide to help him find a wife. Caroline, the widowed Countess of Stratton, a favorite of the ton, seems a likely candidate. When Henry meets Caroline, he decides to try and woo her, but she is surrounded by admirers. Because of this, Henry seeks help from Caroline's companion, Francis Whittier.
IT TAKES TWO TO TANGLE is an enjoyable Regency romance with complex characters, but something of a lull in pacing during the middle of the book. Henry has to adapt to his new reality and try to fit back into society after the horrors of war. Although, at first, Henry sets his sights on Caroline, he soon finds himself drawn to Francis. Francis is an intelligent woman with lots of spunk, and she is just the remedy, that Henry needs to overcome some of his obstacles.
All in all, IT TAKES TWO TO TANGLE is an entertaining book with a lovely couple, which I recommend.

Review of How to Date a Dragon
HOW TO DATE A DRAGON may be purchased here.
HOW TO DATE A DRAGON
Ashlyn Chase
When Bliss Russo's apartment catches fire, she is rescued by hunky fireman and dragon shifter, Drake Cameron. Drake is the last of his clan, and he is searching for another dragon shifter, so he can have children. Unfortunately, Drake can't get Bliss out of his head, and to be with her, he will have to let his dream of children go.
HOW TO DATE A DRAGON is an amusing paranormal romance, filled with quirky characters. Bliss is a determined, focused heroine, who doesn't back down from anything or anyone. Bliss makes a great match for a dragon shifter, who has a rather complicated life. Drake is something of a laid back hero, who is charming and protective. The secondary characters are entertaining, especially Mother Nature.
All in all, HOW TO DATE A DRAGON is an nice read with some humorous scenes. I recommend this book for someone looking for an, amusing, quick read.

Easy Canvas Giveaway and Review
Easy Canvas contacted me about reviewing their canvases, and I was happy to comply. The ordering process was super easy and the canvas arrived very quickly. The above picture is the canvas, that I chose. It has a great look, and I've really been enjoying it. I haven't hung it, yet, but will hang it someplace prominent, because it makes me smile and brightens my day. These canvases would make awesome gifts, and you might want to get one for yourself.

Review of Serenya's Song
SERENYA'S SONG may be purchased here.
SERENYA'S SONG
Mysti Parker
Serenya Crowe is half elf and doesn't know, who her father is. After her mother died giving birth to her, Serenya's stepfather takes Serenya and runs. Serenya and her stepfather settle in Summerwind, where her stepfather owns a tavern. Serenya has claw-like hands, that she keeps covered and can interpret dreams. When her stepfather falls on hard times, Serenya marries Sebastian, the Earl of Summerwind, but after five years of marriage with no children, he proves to be abusive. Then, Jaden Ravenwing enters the picture. Jaden is a secret agent who decides to settle in Summerwind, while he recovers from a broken marriage and a broken heart. When Serenya and Jaden meet, it is instant attraction, but the forces of evil have plans for Serenya.
SERENYA'S SONG is an enjoyable fantasy romance with complex world-building and intriguing characters. While it took me a little while to get into the story, once I did, I was hooked. Serenya isn't the kick-butt heroine, that I expected, but by the end, she shows great strength. Ms. Parker does a great job of showing the psyche of an abused woman. This part of the story felt really realistic and believable, even though, I wished Serenya would stand up for herself and leave her husband. Jayden is Serenya's perfect match, and he is determined to save her. Ms. Parker creates a picturesque world, that can be beautiful but, also, terrifying. I became involved with all the characters and the action and adventure kept me on the edge of my seat. Sebastian, whom I thought I would hate, left me a little conflicted. While his actions were reprehensible, they could be explained by some outside influences, and by the end, he did something that almost redeemed him in my eyes.
All in all, SERENYA'S SONG is a very entertaining fantasy romance, which I highly recommend.

Review of A Spy to Die For
A SPY TO DIE FOR may be purchased here.
A SPY TO DIE FOR
Kris DeLake
Agent Skylight "Sky" Jones, a spy for the Assassins Guild, meets Jack Hunter, a former spy for the Federated Rover Assassins. The attraction between the two is instantaneous, and they have a one-night stand. Sky kind of regrets, that she may never see Jack again, but then she overhears the head of the Rovers putting a hit out on Jack. After this, Sky and Jack are on the run, not knowing who to trust.
With combustible chemistry, Jack and Sky make for one hot couple. I really like the fact, that these two slowly grow into a relationship, after being forced to work together. Jack and Sky make a formidable team, each bringing their own strengths to the table, and they are true partners by the end. A SPY TO DIE FOR is, also, filled action and adventure.
Overall, A SPY TO DIE FOR is a very enjoyable science fiction romance with great characters and an intense action-filled plot. I'm really hoping, that there will be another book in this series, soon.

Review of Beckman
BECKMAN may be purchased here.
BECKMAN
Grace Burrowes
Beckman Haddonfield, son to the Earl of Bellefonte, is sent by his ailing father to oversee the running of one of his grandmother's properties. Once there, Beckman meets the very attractive housekeeper, Sara Hunt, Sara's daughter, and the cook, Sara's sister. It is apparent, that the Hunt's are keeping secrets, and, then, someone starts sabotaging Beckman's efforts to improve the property.
BECKMAN is the fourth book in the Lonely Lords series, but it can be read alone. While I enjoyed BECKMAN, it is my least favorite book in the series, so far. The truth of the matter is, that I found Sara a little annoying, because she wavered in telling Beckman her true situation a little to long. While I understand Sara's mistrust of men after her experiences, she just couldn't seem to overcome her fears in a decent amount of time. However, Sara has some very good qualities, in that, she is willing to sacrifice and work hard for her family. Beckman is an equally likable hero, although his guilt over his wife's death seemed a little excessive, at times. The secondary characters are great, and I can't wait for the next book.

Review of Smoking Hot
SMOKING HOT may be purchased here.
SMOKING HOT
Karen Kelley
Dillion Taylor, a nephilim, whose father is an angel and mother is a human, decides to help deputy Raine McCandless, because he can hear Raine's grandfather's prayers for help. Over the years, the nephilim have aided humans, whose prayers they can hear. Raine has returned to her small Texas hometown to help her grandfather save his ranch. Unfortunately, the task is almost overwhelming, because of their financial situation and her grandfather's tendency to save animals.
SMOKING HOT is a paranormal romance with likable characters and a good mystery. Dillion has powers but, also, the weaknesses of a human and this makes him susceptible to the attraction, that he feels for Raine. Dillion tries his best to help Raine, but somehow, usually makes the situation worse. In this case, Dillion makes for a rather inept guardian angel. Raine is a stubborn, take-charge woman, who doesn't allow anyone to get too close to her. After her mother leaves and her father drinks himself to death, Raine decides not to let anyone close, because of how love affected her father. However, a certain nephilim gets past her shields, even though, she fights the attraction. There is a fairly good mystery contained within this book. I didn't figure out the culprits until nearly the end. I have one small quibble with SMOKING HOT, in that, the ending seems a little abrupt. Other than this SMOKING HOT is an enjoyable read, which I recommend.

Review of Lady Mercy Danforthe Flirts with Scandal
LADY MERCY DANFORTHE FLIRTS WITH SCANDAL may be purchased here.
LADY MERCY DANFORTHE FLIRTS WITH SCANDAL
Jayne Fresina
Lady Mercy Danforthe, sister to an Earl, organizes everyone and seeks to be a matchmaker on many occasions. When her childhood nemesis, Rafe Hartley, the illegitimate son of a well-born man, is left at the alter, Mercy decides to put matters to rights and find him a wife. Rafe doesn't like Mercy's interference and seeks to teach her a lesson.
LADY MERCY DANFORTHE FLIRTS WITH SCANDAL is an enjoyable historical romance with several humorous scenes and an opposites attract theme. While I, usually, enjoy a managing heroine, Mercy is, at times, a little over the top in her managing ways. However, once the reasons for her controlling and anal behavior are explained, she becomes a more sympathetic character. Rafe has something of a chip on his shoulder, because of his illegitimacy and learning who his father is when he is nearly grown. Rafe wishes to prove his worth to everyone and is hesitant to take any one's help. A union between two individuals from such different classes would be frowned on by society, and Mercy tries her best to take the safe route. Fortunately, Rafe is Mercy's kryptonite, and she soon realizes the opinions of others matter little without the love of her life.
All in all, LADY MERCY DANFORTHE FLIRTS WITH SCANDAL is an entertaining read, even though Mercy is annoying, at times.

Review A Little Night Mischief
A LITTLE NIGHT MISCHIEF may be purchased here.
A LITTLE NIGHT MISCHIEF
Emily Greenwood
Felicity Wilcox is greatly put out that her uncle lost the family home, Tethering Estate, and seeks to do all in her power to get it returned to her. When she meets a handsome stranger, Felicity strikes up a mild flirtation, until she finds out that the stranger, James Collington, is the person, who won her family home.
A LITTLE NIGHT MISCHIEF is a regency romance with a few amusing scenes and a satisfying ending, unfortunately I didn't warm to Felicity very much. While some of her antics are slightly amusing, overall, I found Felicity a little annoying and perhaps a little too modern in her thinking. James is a likable hero, who is very focused on repairing his family name. This determination almost costs him something special, but, luckily, he sees reason in time.
