PRINCE OF POWER
Elisabeth Staab
In a world where wizards and vampires are mortal enemies, Anton, son of the wizard leader, doesn't quite fit in. When Anton is given the assignment to kidnap, absorb the powers, and kill the vampire king's sister, Tyra, he can't bring himself to do the dastardly dead. Instead, Anton saves Tyra and watches over her until she is safe. Now, Anton and Tyra are in great danger from the wizards, and the vampires aren't going to accept a wizard in their midst meekly, and to top all of this, Tyra's father kept a devestating secret from her.
With awesome world-building, great conflict, and multi-faceted characters, PRINCE OF POWER makes for a very entertaining paranormal read. Ms. Staab creates a world, in which, vampires and wizards live amongst ordinary humans and the wizards viciously torture and kill the vampires to absorb their powers. Anton isn't the ordinary alpha hero. Even though he is forced to do some despicable things to survive, Anton is a sensitive, caring soul. That Anton has survived the tortures and training of his truly evil father, speaks to his strength of character. Anton knows that there are many obstacles in his way and is willing to sacrifice himself, if it means saving his love, Tyra. Tyra is a strong, powerful, headstrong, vampire, who sometimes doesn't look before she leaps. Tyra is conflicted by her growing feelings for Anton. How can she trust a member of the hated wizard race? There are some interesting secondary characters in this book, and I'm hoping for Lee's story, soon.
PRINCE OF POWER kept me enthralled from the very beginning, and I can't wait for the next book in the series. This book is highly recommended for the paranormal lover.
NOTE: I received this book in return for an unbiased review.
